American Civil War General William Tecumseh Sherman said it best: War is hell, and its glory is all moonshine. Be that as it may, war movies and military movies are great for those big budget Summer blockbusters. It’s the closest most of us ever get to war and military life, and so there’s a natural fascination. It definitely captured my imagination as a kid—those were far and away my favorite movies. In honor of the recent Veterans Day here in America and Armistice Day everywhere else we’re going to discuss our Top 5 War Movies. To enhance our discussion we didn’t share our lists with each other and by no means are we experts or historians in said category. We are just a few dudes who like to talk about nonsense.
