Think back on some of the most iconic moments in movie history. Think about the exact moment when the Avengers assembled for the first time in New York City. The score has an unquantifiable impact on the scene; it elevates, depresses, excites, or frightens us. Musical scores and soundtracks when done really well transform a great story into a masterpiece. It’s also true with video games, which is something not a lot of people realize. The industry is bigger than ever, but gamers are still a fraction of the population compared to moviegoers, so they can be forgiven for not realizing that some of the greatest stories and musical scores are found in video games, whether we’re talking just a specific song or the whole damned album.
